CALL FOR PROPOSALSDEEPLY ROOTED: COMMUNITY GREEN GRANTS PROGRAM-SUMMER 2024


Deeply Rooted is a community-academic collaborative that uses the healing power of nature to promote health and wellbeing in Black and Brown Philadelphia neighborhoods. Deeply Rooted is led by the Penn Urban Health Lab along with our lead partners Southwest CDC, ACHIEVEability, Sister Clara Muhammad CDC, Belmont Alliance Civic Association CDC, BOOST CDC, and Community of Compassion CDC, and other community organizations in West and Southwest Philadelphia. We are currently accepting proposals for the Community Green Grants Program, designed to support residents and leaders in coming together to care for, celebrate in and appreciate the nature in our communities.

PROPOSAL GUIDELINES: Proposed grant activities and programs must directly benefit one of 8 Deeply Rooted communities – Kingsessing, Paschall, Elmwood, Cobbs Creek, Haddington, Mill Creek, Carroll Park, or Belmont. Priority will be given to applicants located within these neighborhoods. Proposals should be in one of the following areas related to greenspace or nature:
Innovation
Improvement
Organizing
Entrepreneurship

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Applicants can be individuals or community-based organizations or groups and must be located in West or Southwest Philadelphia. Applicants MUST have a registered EIN number at the time of application submission.

DEADLINE: The application deadline is July 12th at 5pm. Grants will be announced by August 2, 2024. All proposal activities must be completed by August 31, 2025. You will receive confirmation that your application was received. An application must be complete to be considered for review.
