Selma receives grant for Phase One of Riverfront Boardwalk Project |

The City of Selma Office of Planning and Development has received an $800,000 grant from the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) for Phase One of the Riverfront Boardwalk Project.

The Riverfront Boardwalk Project is a significant initiative that aligns with the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) goals of improving non-motorized transportation infrastructure with the ultimate objective of creating access to the Alabama River from Historic Downtown Selma,” said a post on social media.

The post adds that the project, once completed, will bring “significant” substantial economic and social benefits to the city.
