What Type of ETF’s Should I Be Investing In?

I think we all heard the story about not having all your eggs in one basket, especially when it comes to investing and retirement, it’s way to risky. But how about instead of buying you just buy the entire basket, so if a few eggs crack they get replaced and you make back your money.

1. What an ETFs is
– An ETFs is an electronically exchange-traded funds, so it’s like an index fund that is traded on the stock exchange
– Meaning the price is not only based on the NAV or net value assets
– But it can also be on the demand for that ETF

So in simple terms:
– An ETF is the basket that holds a bunch of eggs being traded on the stock market
– Now we know if a basket has 500 eggs and they all sell for $1, that means the value is $500, now the ETF has 10 shares issued into the market, the value per share is $50
– However, if everyone starts buying baskets and the demand increases that price can increase a lot more

Now let’s take away the basket example for a few seconds:
– Imagine an ETFs like Vanguard s&p 500, this holds the largest 500 companies in the US stock market exchange
– So the NAV of ETF is based on the holdings it has but the market price could change
– On top of that the reason you want to have this ETF is that, instead of buying one or ten US large companies and hoping they do good, you can just own the top 500 that are responsible for 80 of the stock market gains ( and be extremely diversified )

Tip: But again that just one basket, what is the US stock market crashes, but the internal market is up, what do you do then ( the answer we buy different baskets and maintain a good portfolio )

2. ETFs to buy and why and where
– The goal for this portfolio of ETFs is simple
– We want to be diversified to take advantage of market gains and market drops
– And later in the video I’ll teach you how much to invest and how

Now I like real Life example: So I’m going to show you my portfolio
– My M1 Finance portfolio with the 7 ETFs
– Video on more portfolio for different people:
– Remember a portfolio is basically just the collection of the investments you own.

3. And how to buy it and why ( when to stop buying )

– We’re going to use Dollar Cost Average
– Because this way we don’t care about market Highs and market lows
– But before you start investing Clean up the debt and have an emergency fund set aside ) – because during market crashes something you might lose your job and you don’t want to sell anything at a massive discount
