Whats Going To Happens With Credit Card Travel Points

So what’s going to happen with credit card travel point and should you redeem or stack upon them. You know in 2019 travel points were as good as cash ( not for dave Ramsey but for most us) but now the game has changed,

whats going to happens with credit card travel points

1. How credit cards are changing because of what’s going on
– But if I’m being honest, credit cards have been changing for awhile
– Because if you notice they operate in cycles
– Bait you, then they get you in debt, then they switch it on you

Real-Life example:
– Citi, discover and a few big credit cards, have been removing perks all the way since late 2019
– purchase protection, rental insurance, and even extended warranties.
– Why? Again the idea is to give you a lot of reasons to join, and then once you spent enough money, they can switch things up, but you still have to pay off the balance

I’m saying to show you guys: that the cycles credit cards do, are normal and natural and they do all the time, it’s marketing

2. That’s not the Only change
– Although the more people that sign for credit and qualify
– Means more customers and money for them
– It doesn’t mean the same as all those people spend a ton of money and are now unemployed and can’t pay their bills
This means: it’s going to get harder to qualify for some cards

Real example:
– When I got my first credit card I was 18 or 19
– And I said my income was 3000 a month ( sorry to tell you, but that was a lie)
– But they never verified, almost like they wanna make it easy for you to get into debt huh

Tip: I wouldn’t be surprised: if credit rules tightening up so much to the point where if the automatic application spots something they might start decaying application easier

So if its harder to qualify

3. What does this mean for ( Churners or for people looking to get some points)
– – credit churning is still going to be solid
– Because credit cards are still COMPETING, so they are still offering massive bonuses or $750, they haven’t gone done
– But to qualify might be a different story

Real example:
–extension: overall:
– the idea of credit card bonus is still solid and I’m still getting a ton of letters every month, especially with my new credit of 756
– so churning is still very well alive

( good thing about the offers is, that they have a margin of safety of 12-18 months to let you spend and then financially start paying back.

4. But before I go, here’s something I wanna make sure you guys pay attention to
– Most credit cards are not requiring payments right now ( but if your card does, and you request them to stock, that might affect your credit line ) – they might take it as a sign of financial instability
– And if you Travel point: and they are worth 25% more for travel but you need the cash now, well redeem for cash ( travel can wait if you’re having an emergency)
– But for people that don’t need the cash: right now is the best time to redeem for travel because everything is on discount.

For example:
I bought some tickets for a vacation that would usually cost 1000+ and I paid 40%. ( plus a guaranteed no fee if I want to make changes)

Bait and switch with the promotion 12-18 months
