INDIANAPOLIS — On Sunday, dozens of young men graduated from a program preparing them for a successful future. The 100 Black Men of Indianapolis, Inc. celebrated its 39th annual Beautillion Militaire scholarship program on April 13. WTHR’s Matthew Fultz was one of the emcees, alongside Andrea Neeley. This event highlights months of work put in by these young men, through mentorship and life skills to use in the real world after high school. Some of that includes: wealth creation, personal financial management, post-secondary educational opportunities, preparing for college and multinational awareness. This event also celebrates the importance of young people lifting up each other. “We look at the village concept. We think there are multiple paths to success. But one of those paths to success is to make sure you surround yourself with like-minded individuals,” said James Duke, 100 Black Men of Indianapolis chair.
