Don’t wait until the Last Moment to Move out – Preboxing everything – Paying a few extra dollars for rent 2. Use the move to Clean Up things you need – If you just saw a pair of shoes that you haven’t worn in a long time, or clothes, use this money to give those things away 3. Make sure the Apartment is no more than 33% of your net monthly income, the lower the better 4. Shop for condiments at Walmart, not Costco ( the money adds up ) 5. Learn to cook 6. Ask for boxes instead of buying them – Use your duffle bad and suitcases – Make sure the boxes you get have handles 7. Most important – Assemble the bed and sheets first ( once you’re done you can go to sleep ) – Have a box for your bathroom stuff, to set up the minute you get there – This way you have somewhere to sleep and an organized place for your essential needs – Then Unpack, Kitchen and lastly living room ( for me it would be the kitchen but the home office is super important ) 8. Your last place: Protects your deposit – Hire someone else to clean it for you, to deliver clean – Or clean it yourself (it is why its so important to set up a schedule ) 9. Number your Boxed by Importance – Box One : Bedroom – Box Two: Bathroom – Box Three: Clothes for 1 week, work and home clothes – Box Three: Kitchen – Box Four: Living Room – And so on, in levels of importance 10. Have 3 months of emergencies 11. Have a Gift Box: – Things you don’t need – Or want and cant take – Things you couldn’t sell – Friends will thank you 12.
