The grants are being made from the State Industrial Development Authority (SIDA). Administering the program is the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama (EDPA), which will act as the portal for applications. Once all of the applications are in, SIDA will announce the results early next year. “Though the first round of SEEDS grants was announced just a few months ago, the program has already enhanced our competitiveness on the economic development playing field,” said Alabama Department of Commerce Secretary Ellen McNair. “In fact, the new industrial sites created through SEEDS funding are allowing us to compete for more than a dozen corporate growth projects involving a combined $13.5 billion in new capital investment and 5,000 jobs.” Montgomery was among the cities that benefitted from a the first $30 million grant in February.
