Episode Overview
This episode of The Bridge brings together African women—born and raised on the continent of Africa—and African American women—born and raised in the United States—to engage in an open and honest dialogue about identity, womanhood, culture, and shared ancestry. While they share similar skin color (or African roots), their lived experiences, societal norms, and cultural values have been shaped by vastly different histories and environments. The discussion will explore the intersections and tensions between African traditions and the African American experience, as well as points of unity and mutual respect.

Episode Goals
Foster Understanding – Help both groups better understand the unique struggles, strengths, and perspectives of the other.
Challenge Stereotypes – Break down common misconceptions and address cultural myths that fuel division.
Celebrate Shared Heritage – Highlight the richness of African roots and the resilience of the diaspora experience.
Encourage Dialogue – Inspire viewers to have their own cross-cultural conversations with openness and curiosity.
Promote Unity Across Borders – Show that differences can be acknowledged while still fostering connection, respect, and solidarity.
