ArtsRevive CDC receives Creative Places Arts Facilities grant | News

ArtsRevive CDC in Selma has received a $47,200 Creative Places Arts Facilities grant from the Alabama State Council on the Arts to fund renovations to the Carneal Building.

The funds will be used to roof over the existing metal roof at the Carneal Building, repair the decking inside and install a return air filter grill on duct, said a press release on Tuesday.

“This grant to help renovate ArtsRevive’s Carneal Building means so much more than just improving our physical space-it empowers us to fulfill our mission of using the arts as a catalyst for community development and creative placemaking in Selma and Dallas County,” said Executive Director, Becky Youngblood.

“With these upgrades, we can provide a safe, accessible and welcoming environment for community events. This support helps us strengthen the cultural fabric of Selma and ensures that the arts remain a vital force for connection and revitalization in the city we call home!”
