Avoiding Real Estate Investors & Landlords Biggest Tax Mistakes

Many Real Estate Investors are not clear in what to do with a piece of property when they have purchased the real estate but have not put that property ( or try to put ) in service.

Since that real estate investor has invested in a piece of property many of times they begin to write off the expenses of the property but the property is not in service or actively being rented.

Real estate investors, are to add all the costs of the property they incur to the cost basis of the property. Which can be depreciated when that rental property is placed in service or sold ( or both)
