Black Excellence with Karen Chapman


CFC Conversations: Black Excellence aims to profile and engage creatives from all areas of the industry including actors, directors, writers, producers, costume designers, and hair and makeup artists to speak on issues and realities that are front and centre.

A proud alumna of the Canadian Film Centre, Karen Chapman recently made waves with her debut feature film, Village Keeper, which premiered at TIFF 2024. Her work on this film has not only drawn critical acclaim but also earned her a nomination for the Directors Guild of Canada Award for “Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film.”

​In this event, Karen will share her journey as a multifaceted storyteller, her dedication to projects that inspire change, and the creative problem-solving skills that have shaped her diverse body of work.
