Black Ladies Organisation launches first women’s business awards in Carletonville

Local women who excel were recognised for their efforts during the function.

Carletonville recently hosted a dazzling celebration of local excellence as the Black Ladies Organisation (BLO) officially launched with its first-ever BLO Business Awards dinner at the Civic Centre on September 6.
The event brought together more than 150 remarkable local women, many successful entrepreneurs, who are making a positive impact in their communities.
According to BLO chairperson Blessing Ramphomane, the awards night marked a significant milestone for the organisation, which she co-founded in January 2023 alongside Raisa Shiburi and Nomsa Mthembu. BLO is a registered non-profit company based in the Old Mutual Building on 71 Annan Road, Carletonville.
A total of 24 award categories were presented during the evening, including the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. This honour was bestowed upon inspiring women such as Ma Motshidisi Selebogo, a former teacher and principal who now owns a successful catering business.
