Black-Owned Group Travel Startup SquadTrip Secures $1.5M In Funding

Black-owned SquadTrip has announced it has successfully secured $1.5 million in funding to revolutionize group travel.

Making group travel easy

SquadTrip is an automated payment solution for large and small groups, making booking and payments easy for group trips.

Their online platform allows users to save time managing group travel by creating trip sites, automating guest billing and keeping track of all traveller logistics from one place.

It is the first travel platform targeting millennials with flexible payment instalments, Apple Pay checkout and promo codes.

The company was founded by best friends Darrien Watson and Stevon Judd, who have generated $7 million in travel sales and 6,000 bookings.

Secured Funding

The partnership has secured $1.5 million in funding. It will use the investment to support the startup’s mission to revolutionize the travel industry and provide enhanced experiences for travellers and industry experts.

“We are proud of what we have accomplished so far, and this funding will enable us to focus on talent recruitment in areas such as engineering, quality assessment, testing, PM, and design,” said Stevon Judd, co-founder of SquadTrip.

Atento Captial, a venture capital firm on unlocking unsung potential in early-stage founders and Forum Ventures, a leading early-stage fund in New York, San Francisco and Toronto, are included in the funding round.
