Black Queens boycott training over unpaid bonuses

The Black Queens of Ghana

The Black Queens players have reportedly boycotted their training sessions due to unpaid bonuses from the 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

According to reports sighted by GhanaWeb Sports, the players are still owed bonuses after winning bronze medal in the 2024 WAFCON in Morocco.

The players who are currently in camp preparing for the game against Egypt in Accra have refused to participate in any training or physical sessions until authorities meet with them to discuss the matter.

The team is currently staying at the Erata Hotel, where reports claim that no official from the Ministry of Sports and Recreation has visited them since they began camping there.

The team is preparing to host Egypt on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, for the 2026 Women’s African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Ghana are going into the game on the back of an impressive 3-0 victory over the Egyptians in the first leg.
