Build in Tulsa honors Black History Month with workshops, coaching

TULSA, Okla. – In celebration of Black History Month, Build in Tulsa is launching a series of workshops, coaching sessions, and networking events aimed at empowering local Black entrepreneurs. The February programming will provide critical financial and business development resources to historically underrepresented founders, helping them build sustainable success.

The lineup features hands-on sessions covering financial wellness, accounting fundamentals, business networking, and long-term wealth planning. Each event is designed to equip participants with practical tools to navigate Tulsa’s growing startup ecosystem.

Event Highlights:

Financial Wellness & Wealth Building – Feb. 4, 5:30 PM: Led by financial expert Reginald Canal, this workshop will focus on budgeting, credit management, and startup financial planning. Attendees will receive actionable templates and follow-up support.

1921 Sankofa – Accounting 101 Fundamentals – Feb. 11, 5:30 PM: Financial experts Wally Bryce and John Weaver will teach business owners how to track profits and losses, manage cash flow, and build solid financial systems.

Entrepreneur Community Resource Fair – Feb. 18, 5:30 PM: In partnership with the Black Wall Street Chamber of Commerce, this networking event connects entrepreneurs with funding opportunities, mentors, and business resources.

Visionary Coaching – Feb. 25, 9:00 AM: A full-day coaching session focused on estate planning and financial legacies, offering entrepreneurs personalized guidance to secure their future.
