Central Minnesota Community Foundation Awards $40,000 in Grant Funding to Local Non-Profits

(KNSI) — The Central Minnesota Community Foundation has awarded $40,000 in grants to local organizations that support individuals with special needs and programs for boys and men.  

ConnectAbility of MN got $10,000 for their equipment program, and WACOSA received $9,500 for their Lift Us Up Project. Catholic Charities of the Diocese of St. Cloud was awarded $6,700 for the Therapeutic Engagement Project, and Pleasantview Elementary School, which is part of the Sauk Rapids Rice School District received $3,800 to buy adaptive tricycles.  

The Central Minnesota Boys and Men’s Fund supports programs addressing challenges faced by males, including educational disparities, mental health stigma, fatherhood support, and career development.  

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota, D Blake Center, United Way of Central Minnesota, and the Veteran Resource & Enrichment Center all received $2,500 grants. 

 Boys & Girls Clubs will use the funding for its Passport to Manhood Program, D Blake Center bolster its Boys to Men program, United Way is putting the money toward its Community Mentorship: Fostering Resilience in Young Black Men program. The Veterans Resource & Enrichment Center will fund its Oasis CREW Military Family Garden project.  

Since 1985, CMCF has grown to $160.7 million in assets and awarded $166.7 million in grants to non-profits.
