Chris Hani: African Revolutionary, Why was he Killed?

On Saturday 24 April 1993, one Martin Thembsile ‘Chris’ Hani was gunned down by an assassin affiliated with extreme white right wing, the AWB, in the driveway of his home in a suburb of Johannesburg, South Africa.

The motive could not have been more obvious; by striking at the very heart of the ANC/SACP alliance through this assassination, the right wing sought to scupper the ongoing negotiations aimed at ushering democracy in South Africa and most importantly reverse the apartheid time clock…
