Young Dolph’s longtime partner Mia Jaye kicked off her Black Men Deserve to Grow Old campaign last year, and it’s gotten a surge of attention in the wake of Dolph’s death. Per TMZ, Jaye launched the campaign as part of her clothing brand Momeo after her brother fell victim to gun violence, and brand manager William Miller says there’s been a big increase in sales over the past week. Prior to Dolph’s killing in his hometown of Memphis, Momeo was seeing about 20 orders per day, but now sources say there’s been somewhere between 250 to 600 a day. “What Mia wants everybody to know is that Dolph had a huge part in it,” Miller said. “He was funding the whole thing. It was something he cared about as well.” The key item receiving interest is a hoodie that pays tribute to Young Dolph, who was shot and killed on Nov. 17 while stopping by Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookies. As a result of the increase in sales, the clothing brand is set to boost its philanthropic efforts through the Black Men Deserve to Grow Old campaign. Per Fox 13 Memphis, a third of the proceeds have been going to “three families, chosen by the brand, who experienced the loss of a Black son, father or husband.” Originally, the goal for the campaign was to sell 3,000 products before the end of 2021, but now that will be achieved in a week. This week, Makeda’s announced it had renamed Dolph’s favorite cookie in tribute to him. “That was one thing that Dolph did, [he] used to say when you get off the expressway, he was like, ‘I can smell y’all. I’m getting off the expressway. I had to come in,’” said operations manager Raven Winton. “To know that we’re not going to see that face anymore is…I’m trying to hold back tears.” Key Glock, one of Dolph’s closest collaborators, opened up on Monday about the loss of his friend. “Damn bro, I’m LOST,” he wrote. “My heart is torn my brain bout to explode it HURTS when I breathe… why you leave me so soon??” Did Young Dolph’s business partners have insurance on him? – Vicki Dillard Tags used for this video: black women,Vicki Dillard,Young dolph,Empire,Vlad, young dolph, murdered, shot and killed, rapper, memphis, hip hop, music, music business, music industry, family, black men,Makeda’s,black rappers matter, young Delphi’s family, toxic hip hop, killing, black on black crime, jealous, black lives matter, independent artist, bakery, victim, senseless violence, gun violence, tragic, money, rich, king of memphis,DWhat will Young Dolph’s business partners do now? – Vicki Dillard The Black Financial Channel is sponsored by The Black Business School.
