Do NBA donations to #BlackLivesMatter really help black people?

The #NBA is often seen as a leader in social justice.

But all the money given to #blacklivesmatter is given ON BEHALF of #blackpeople, rather than DIRECTLY TO black people.

#BlackOwnedBusinesses need hundreds of billions in financial support so we can clean up our communities.

We need #blackowned schools so black people can educate black children.

We need significant criminal justice reform to help the millions of #blackmen and #blackwomen who are tangled up in the #WarOnDrugs and #massincarceration.

There are less than 10 well-known police shootings of unarmed black men that we see in media every single year. But MILLIONS of black people are living in poverty, stuck in prison and dying to get critical resources for their families.

So saying that “Black Lives Matter” is a nice visual for a basketball game, but are you REALLY making a difference, or just PRETENDING to be?
