Downtown’s new Black-owned nightclub opened at 4th & Race

West Fourth Street has seen the newest addition in Cincinnati’s ever-changing Downtown area.

The Black-owned LoVe on Fourth nightclub has officially opened at 138 W. Fourth St., offering elevated entertainment, happy hours and VIP options for the neighborhood’s young professionals.

The opening is part of Cincinnati Center City Development Corp.’s $118 million mixed-use development project at Fourth and Race streets. The club, owned by local entrepreneur Ricardo Grant, joins neighboring tenants BB.Q Chicken and Paris Baguette, as well as a 584-space above-grade parking garage, 22,000 square feet of street-level commercial space and a 264-unit apartment building on the upper-level floors.

Grant is a seasoned entrepreneur. Previously, he has partnered with 3CDC to open Gallery at Gumbo and Cinema in Over-the-Rhine, and he hopes this new, 4,300-square-foot nightclub will serve young businesspeople in the Downtown area.

LoVe on Fourth introduces ‘Professional Recess’ happy hours

First, Grant plans to host a “Professional Recess” happy hour every Friday at 4 p.m., starting Dec. 8.

“Other big cities do happy hour really well. Cincinnati just does it too late,” said Grant in a 3CDC release. “LoVe will be opening at 4 p.m. on Fridays so people can come straight from work to relax and have a drink to kick off the weekend before heading home, to dinner or out for the night.”

In line with its sophisticated vibe, LoVe on Fourth has a strict dress code, requiring a “fashion-forward” dress and prohibiting attire like athletic shorts, torn jeans and flip flops. The venue also features a DJ booth with state-of-the-art sound and lighting and upscale décor.

VIP reservations and bottle service can be booked online at www.loveonfourth.com.

Entrepreneur Ricardo Grant ‘had a specific vision’ for LoVe on Fourth

Lindzie Gunnels, 3CDC’s commercial leasing manager, said 3CDC has been “intentional” about increasing the number of Black-owned businesses in its storefronts.

“Rico is known as one of the most well-connected entrepreneurs in Cincinnati and he has a shown a passion for showcasing all the city has to offer while uplifting others in the community,” Gunnels told The Enquirer.

“It’s always inspiring to watch Rico take an idea and run with it. He had a specific vision for this space and nothing could stop him from making it happen,” Gunnels added in a 3CDC release.

When is LoVe on Fourth open?

LoVe on Fourth is open Fridays from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Saturdays from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday hours will vary based on sporting event times.

Beyond its normal weekend hours, LoVe will serve as a small event center during the week. The space is available to rent for private events via LoVe’s website.
