Essentials for Entrepreneurs | Nashville.gov

In 2023, Nashville joined four other U.S. cities in the Breaking Barriers to Business cohort! This cohort is a multiyear initiative designed to strengthen small businesses and open career pathways for BIPOC communities across the country. Our office is partnering with Nashville’s BIPOC business community to address systemic barriers preventing business owners of color from starting, preserving, and/or growing their businesses. By centering BIPOC voices, our office aims to tackle the historic and systemic harms that have perpetuated the racialized economic inequity in Nashville.

This webpage was inspired by our friends at the KC BizCare Office in Kansas City, Missouri. KC BizCare is a free small business resource, advocacy, and information center for emerging and existing businesses operating within Kansas City, Missouri. For over 15 years, the KC BizCare Office has helped countless entrepreneurs navigate the business registration and licensing process and reach their business goals.
