Evans High’s Mason Short signs to University of Georgia

EVANS, Ga. (WJBF) – From Evans to Athens.  Evans High School junior Mason Short announced Friday morning that he will play college football at the University of Georgia.

Short, who originally committed to Alabama, but reopened his recruiting after Crimson Tide Coach Nick Saban retired in January, made his announcement this morning in front of a packed auditorium at Evans High School.

As Short made his announcement, the song “Georgia on My Mind” by Ray Charles played over the sound system.

Short is a 6’5”, 305 pound offensive lineman.  24/7 Sports lists him as the 8th best interior offensive lineman in the Class of 2025.

Short picked the Bulldogs over several schools, including Clemson, Kentucky, and Ohio State.
