Events happening in Toronto this weekend: Feb. 7-9- NOW Toronto


The weekend is here, and despite it being a little grey outside, the calendar is looking pretty colourful in Toronto!

From a Black History Month market in Scarborough to multiple sing-alongs, here are some things you won’t want to miss.

Friday, Feb. 7

Skates and Sounds: DJ Nights at College Park

Lace up your skates and get your groove on with the sixth Skates and Sounds DJ series at College Park. The 2025 series of themed parties will be held on Friday nights throughout the month, starting Friday, Feb. 7, with DJs on deck from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.

The event features free skate lending and activities for the family. 

The Feb. 7 host is Baby YU, and the party theme is 80s vs 90s.

Scarborough Town Centre Black History Month Pop-Up Market

From Friday, Feb. 7 to Sunday, Feb. 9, check out the Scarborough Town Centre’s Black History Month pop-up market

The weekend-long vendor market gives Torontonians the perfect opportunity to support local Black-owned businesses and entrepreneurs, including Ambroz Jewelry, Luxe Lueur, Noir Accessories and more. 

Plus, enjoy a live steelpan performance on Saturday from 5 to 6 p.m. 

Late Night: A Jamaica Mi Come From!

Dance the night away and enjoy a celebration of Jamaican Culture at a late-night party in the Queen’s Quay area. Late Night: A Jamaica Mi Come From will be taking over Lakeside Terrace for an evening of reggae, dancehall, and ska, with organizers promising to transport attendees to the Caribbean.

Saturday, Feb. 8

My Bloody Valentine’s Market

Get in your love day celebrations early with the My Bloody Valentine’s Market, hosted by the Toronto Dark Arts Market at Ground Control.

The market is dedicated to all things weird and wonderful, featuring over 35 different vendors with stalls to browse, from between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Entry is free, and the venue is accessible!

Abbamania on Saturday at Old Mill 

You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life at Abbamania at Etobicoke’s Old Mill. 

Abbamania features performers in elaborate costumes, dancing and singing 22 of ABBA’s biggest hits. Belt out fan favourites like “Dancing Queen,” “Mamma Mia,” and “Waterloo.”

The show is 19+ and runs from 8-10 p.m., with tickets ranging from $20-$30. Find out more here

Bob Marley Tribute Concert

Check out a Bob Marley tribute, and celebrate the Jamaican icon’s 80th birthday, for a good cause. 

The 19th Annual Bob Marley Birthday Tribute show will be taking over Lee’s Palace from Saturday at 8 p.m. until Sunday at 2 a.m.

Hosted by Kwasi Douglas and Patrick Roots, the event lineup features Reggaddiction, a live 10pc Band, special guests Kirk Diamond, Kairo McLean, and Pressure Drop Selectas.

Attendees can also bring food donations, with donated items going to the Parkdale Community Food Bank.

Sunday, Feb. 9

Dreamgirls Sing-A-Long

Calling all dreamgirls (and company!) Hot Docs is hosting a Dreamgirls sing-a-long event.

The theatre will be screening the 2006 hit musical film, starring Jennifer Hudson, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, Anika Noni Rose and Jamie Foxx.

The movie starts at 3:30 p.m., and doors open at 2:45 p.m. Find tickets here.

Chocolate Making Workshop

Satisfy your sweet tooth by taking part in a chocolate-making workshop at Hotel Victoria. 

Operated by Chocolate Tales, the workshop is great for beginner chocolatiers, and any chocolate lover looking to learn the basics of chocolate making.
