FAMU Royal Court bring home three Awards from New Orleans Conference

The Florida A&M University 2025-2025 Royal Court snagged multiple awards at the 23rd
Annual HBCU Kings & Queens Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana. Held annually, as
a four-day summit, the conference brings newly elected Kings and Queens from Historically
and Black Colleges and Universities across the nation.

The conference is organized by Leadership for Queens and Kings’ Konnection, an organization
that describes itself as dedicated to empowering student leaders with essential skills
in leadership, etiquette, and professional development, fostering both personal and
collegiate growth.

“The HBCU Kings & Queens Conference is more than a competition—it’s a transformative
experience that sharpens leadership skills, builds lifelong networks, and strengthens
our students’ commitment to excellence,” said Cateatra Mallard, director of Student Activities and Royal Court co-advisor. “I am incredibly proud of our student leaders for representing our university with
poise, grace and undeniable Rattler pride.”

The conference also extends networking opportunities, professional mentors, and additional
resources to support their collegial experiences. At the conclusion of the conference,
the Royal Courts from each institution attend a closing banquet.

“The Kings & Queens Conference was such a memorable and rewarding experience. I’m
incredibly grateful to have been recognized with multiple awards,” said Edwina Fleuridor Miss FAMU.

The pharmaceutical sciences major went on to thank her peers Khari Jackson, kharithevisionary
on Instagram, for capturing their winning moments. She also shouted out Sandler Fleurima
for her style collaboration.

“Their talents truly elevated our presentation and made these achievements possible.
I’m so grateful to have them in our corner,” she said.

Representing the top 100 public institution in the U.S. and leading with Rattler pride,
the FAMU Royal Court was acknowledged for their poise and presence being nominated
for various categories.

The court returned home to Tallahassee with three awards:

• Best Dressed Court
• Best Dressed Queen
• Best King & Queen Photo

“The HBCU Kings & Queens Conference was an unforgettable experience. The lessons learned,
the memories made, and the time shared with our fellow brother kings and sister queens
will always hold a special place in my heart,” said Miles Howard, Mister FAMU and mathematics education scholar. “Glory to God for the awards we received and the impact we were able to make. I truly
believe we represented FAMU with excellence, a testament to the dedication and hard
work of our entire team.”
