GET INSPIRED Flau’jae Johnson Reveals Boosie Badazz ‘Looked After’ Her… AdminJuly 18, 2025013 views Flau’jae Johnson has revealed that Boosie Badazz looked out for her after her father, rapper Camoflauge, died in 2003. Speaking on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, the LSU Tigers basketball star remembered her father and talked about how he knew Boosie, Birdman, Jeezy, T.I. and Rick Ross because they were all “coming up at the same time” — and that they all “respected” him. “[Boosie] came and looked after me,” Johnson said. “If I ever needed anything … Boosie would come through. He always kept it a thousand. I used to go up to his mansion and play with his kids. … I never had a father figure. So just to see this man in this big old mansion, he got all his kids. … Boosie really showed me Black … excellence.” When Sharpe asked her what people “get wrong” about the Baton Rouge rapper, she confessed that she “can’t defend him all the time because he be saying some off-the-wall stuff. I just be like that’s my uncle, man,” she added, prompting them to both laugh. “But what they don’t know is that man got a heart of gold,” she explained. “He’ll give you his shirt off his back. Heart of gold. And I seen that just off the strength of what he did for me.” At that point, she referenced Boosie’s 2004 track, “Goin Thru Some Thangs,” where he references Camoflauge. In 2003, Camo was fatally shot outside of a recording studio in Savannah, Georgia. He was only 21 years old at the time. “And I ain’t gon’lie I don’t wanna be like Camoflauge / I met him one week, next week he died — I almost cried,” Boosie raps on the first verse. The fact that Boosie barely knew Johnson’s father and still looked out for her was deeply moving to her. “You ain’t knew my dad for two weeks … and you came and you showed love and took care of me,” Johnson said. “He always have my respect but he is a little off the wall.” In addition to playing for the LSU Tigers, Johnson is a rapper. She released the album, Flau & B, earlier this year. Source link
