Nigeria’s former President Muhammadu Buhari has died. He was in power from 2015 to 2023. Mr Buhari was known for his no-nonsense style of leadership, but was criticised for his handling of the economy and for his crackdown on protestors at the Lekki tollgate demonstrations in Lagos in 2020. Our Nigeria correspondent – Mayeni Jones – assesses his life.
