Gifting circles are just looms and pyramid schemes

I was asked if a gifting circle was any different from a blessing loom. This led me to make this video to ensure that if you choose to participate, you are fully aware that both are defined by the government as pyramid schemes.

So, calling a blessing a loom a sou sou doesn’t change its definition. Calling the loom a gifting circle is the same thing. Basically, it all comes down to whether or not you have to recruit new members. This is the defining characteristic of a pyramid scheme.

Ponzie schemes are different in the sense that they don’t require the recruitment of new members.
