Google has launched a smartwatch, Fitbit Ace LTE, to help kids lead more active, independent lives.

Parents want nothing more than to see their children gain independence while keeping them healthy and safe. And that’s no easy task in today’s ever-changing, fast-paced world of technology and apps.

Fun games and daily goals encourage activity and reward movement for kids. And secure calling, text messaging, and location sharing give parents peace of mind. Fitbit Ace LTE is bump, scratch, and water resistant, and it’s designed to keep up with kids’ long days, with 16+ hours of battery life.

     2. Peace of mind for parents with the new Fitbit Ace app

With the new Fitbit Ace app, parents can have peace of mind. They can set up to 20 contacts they trust through the app, so contacting their child anytime through calls, text, and voice messages is easy. They can also set up and manage features in the app, like School Time, which limits gameplay so their child can remain focused on their school day, plus a handy activity dashboard so they can see the child’s movement and progress toward their daily Move Goal. Fitbit Ace LTE also has advanced location technology powered by Google, so parents can see their child’s real-time location.

The Fitbit Ace Pass is the data plan that enables built-in LTE connectivity and provides kids access to calling, messaging, location sharing, Bit Valley, and every game title in the Fitbit Arcade. Meet the eejie: the character at the center of the Fitbit Ace LTE experience who lives in Bit Valley. Fitbit Ace LTE has been built from the ground up specifically for kids, with guidance from industry experts in child psychology, public health, privacy, and digital well-being. Data minimization is an important privacy principle throughout the product, so a kid’s location data is only shown to parents and is automatically deleted after a short time. Parents can see their child’s recent activity and goal progress, but older data will be automatically deleted from our systems.

There are no third-party apps or ads shown to kids. Fitbit Ace LTE is designed to protect your child’s privacy and well-being, and health and wellness data will not be used for Google ads.

Fitbit Ace LTE costs $230 and requires a separate monthly or annual data plan for full functionality.
