(KKCO) – Governor Jared Polis announced a grant program to aid teachers in securing school supplies in August, on Friday he announced a second round of available funding. The original grant in August supplied $2.7 million to Colorado educators, which funded about 7,700 projects, leaving only 271 unfunded. This second round of funding, totaling up to $1.2 million, would allow educators who missed out the first time another chance. The grant program is funded by federal COVID relief money and provides $600 per teacher. The state is awarding the school supply grant money in conjunction with DonorsChoose, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping teachers secure funding for the school year through public donations.
