HOWARD CITY – Sincere Hatch and Zaiden Phillips combined for 49 points to help lead the Grant boys’ basketball team to a 79-55 CSAA-Red victory over Tri-County.

The victory snapped the Tigers’ two-game losing streak.

The Tigers had turnover problems early and trailed by three points after the first two quarters. They regrouped in the second half and overcame the Tri-County press to bust open the scoring.

“Tri-County is much improved defensively since we played them earlier in the year and they play hard,” said Grant coach Dan George. “We finally got it together with 47 points in the second half and played much better on the defensive end.”

Hatch put up 26 points and Phillips tallied 23 points. Ethan DeLong added 11 points and Zander Powell scored 10 points.

Grant (11-2, 5-0) hosts Chippewa Hills on Tuesday for league action.
