Grant Program to Support Woman- and Minority-Owned Businesses in Utica | Focus Economy


UTICA, N.Y. — Mayor Mike Galime announced grant funding for woman- and minority-owned businesses with five or fewer employees in Utica.A total of $165,000 from the 2024-2025 federal Community Development Block Grant funds will support this program.Grants range from $5,000 to $15,000 for capital assets or working capital.Recipients must complete a training program through the Mohawk Valley Small Business Development Center.To qualify, the business owner must be low- to moderate-income or create a job for a low- to moderate-income individual.Applications for the grant are available on the City’s website or by contacting Jack Spaeth, economic development specialist at jspaeth@cityofutica.com, or call 315-792-0181.
