GET GRANTS Grant to Fund Community Room at Humane Society of the Black Hills – Rapid City South Dakota news, weather, sports AdminSeptember 19, 202504 views RAPID CITY, S.D.— Grant money is going to help the Humane Society of the Black Hills install a community room. The $50,000 grant has been awarded by the Black Hills Area Community Foundation. The plan is to renovate the old adoption room, following the completion of “Kitty City” next spring. The new space will be used to host events, educational workshops, and gatherings designed to strengthen the bond between people and animals. And as the name implies, the room will also be available to other community organizations. HSBH Executive Director Tammy Barrows says, “We plan on making it accessible to other nonprofits to hold meetings for all kinds of educational purposes, yoga with cats. I mean, pretty much anything, but it’s we want to become a hub for the community.” The Humane Society is hosting a couple of upcoming events to raise money towards Kitty City. October 3rd is “Dog House For A Day” where local celebrities will be bailed out through community bids. Then, on October 26th the Humane Society is hosting its Muttster Mash Halloween party Source link
