Let’s find out if you have a problem as I do – According to youtube around 80% of you right now are watching me on a smartphone either iPhone or android and then the other 20% on windows, mac, or other devices like PlayStation and so on. – But the point is, right now I can make a guess, you’re either eating, procrastinating, or actively trying to learn something new ( and sometimes it’s all 3) Simple exercise: – iPhone users: go to setting screentime and check how much time you spend on a phone – Android: setting, battery, and battery usage – The average person spends 8 hours sleeping, 8 hours on work, 3 hours on survival activities like eating and showering and so, and they have a blank space of around 5 hours ( if your phone use is more than 4-5 hours then you have a problem) Now let’s make a legal contract: I’ll how mine if you show me yours: here is my phone use and how scary it is – I spend 48M, jk more like 7-8 hours and so on – My most productive weeks are when I’m at the gym 5 times a week – And reading audiobooks also Tip: but now that we know we have a problem, let’s talk about solutions. 2. Solutions – You have to ask yourself, why I’m spending so much time on this app – How does it benefit me or doesn’t benefit me – And why I do I like it or why don’t I like Honestly: here something I’m a bit embarrassed to say – I deleted the Instagram app, and re-download it ones a week for 2-4 hours of DMS – I deleted the app ( you know), and only use when at my computer or chrome ( I was spending 4-5 hours a day on it) – And I plan on deleting a lot more apps like Netflix on so on. But here is why Creating a Good habit and eliminating the bad: – Its 10x harder to resist using Instagram, than it is just not to have the app – And what you want to do, is basically create a lifestyle that when you open the fridge there are no unhealthy options because you never bought them – And if all you have healthy options that is all you are going to eat ( same with are smartphones) – instead of resistants, just eliminate the problem For example: – Steve jobs the guy responsible largely for the iPhone and iPad and so on – Limited his kids from using technology – Because he knew the negatives that it also brings ( and you might say you’re not a kid like I did, but the numbers don’t lie, 7 hours a day on a phone over 50 years add up to 5,322 day or 14.58 years of your life ) 3. Quick Fixes to These problems (that I started using) – Things you can do to today, to start beating this bad habit Steps: – Don’t use your phone: when eating, using the bathroom, before bed, while working, and having a conversation with someone.
