So I decided to call my chase unlimited card and ask for a credit line increase, and it didn’t go as planned, and here’s why.

Before I tell Call here’s some Background

The Card: Chase Unlimited
– $3,300 credit Line

Qualify:
– Over year
– Never missed a payment
– Haven’t ask for a credit increase
– Im using 66% of the card line ( because the limit is so small)
– I have a pretty good Credit Score
– Plus my Income increase by 9k a month

How much to ask for and why:
– Im going to ask them to Match 10k card
– Or maybe a little more

Script:
– I’m a good customer
– I pay on time
– I often pay in full or more than the minimum
– I make more cash
– ( make it stick) I other cards and this is one of my lowest lines
Also: I Buy a lot of stuff in cash, I like the rewards, but lately I haven’t been able to use them, because its to low.

After Call:
Either Got it or Not ( this time i didnt get it)
Will I keep using the Card ( not as much )
Baseline: 1.5%
My Spending: $600 bucks a month
Rewards: 9 dollars a month
Con: no special rewards

So: I might get a better Card, for Travel or a better Baseline
– Not going to spend more Cashback

What went wrong: My strategy played against me, and it would cost me way to much money to get the increase.
