How Long Do I Keep My Stocks For

I only have 1 investment, I am the opposite of diversified, and I have only one investing rule. And that’s common sense. I make investments for the long term, and I only change them if something is wrong but revocably wrong.

1. My only Investment is in the S&P 500
– I own enough shares of this stock to generate about 33k annually in profits if we take the average returns of about 10% ( income details )
– This investment has 500 large US companies ( details of the investment )
– I lose all my money if the US companies all go belly up ( risk )

This basically means that:
– for me to lose my money
– Everyone in the United States has to lose their money
– And all the countries associated with the U.S will also lose money to

It’s like this:
– if I go down then we all go down

2. When would I change my investment ( only under these two stipulations )
– First: Depending on the amount
– Second: State of the country
First: even a lousy investment may make sense depending on how much money you have available to invest
– let’s say the stock market makes 10% which is a solid
– And let’s say treasure bonds are making me 5% but have effectively zero risk ( because the government can always print more money )
– If i have 2Million dollars and i only x then x would make sense
