There is always a story about why I read a book, but honestly I don’t remember why I picked up this book, it might have been a recommendation from one you guys or from another book. You know when you read books and inside a book, there are recommendations to other books.

The nugget in this book is this

Life is about having a balance between saving and enjoying life at the same time

Most people just focus on retiring with a lot of cash but don’t realize that they won’t be able to enjoy life and their money as much as they could have

and the author goes into detail about, know that dying with 0 is impossible but trying to accomplish it is worth it

Life Energy: the amount of time it takes you to make money

if you spend to much time on money, its costing you time that you will never get back

so if you accumulate a bunch of money that you will never spend

then whats the point

The three seasons in life

These seasons are very important

GoGo years:

Usually you have a lot of time, good health and not that much money per say

Think being young, and being able to do a lot of stuff

Slow Go years:

Health goes down, more money and a relatively good amount of time.

No go years:

These are the people that just don’t have that much steam left anymore

Things it made me look more into

Annuities

and consider dying with 0 for the first time ever

annuties:

for insruance to make sure my income never falls below a certain threshhold

Dying with Zero:

I never considered giving my kids, if God allows me to have them, money before I pass away ( or who ever I’m going to give money to )

It was a fresh idea

Overall

It’s a great book, but at times it felt to focus on experiences and memories and kinda saying that’s what life is all about

And for me obviously as a Christian, its not what life is all about

Action I’m going to take

To start enjoying things I can enjoy in this season now, instead of building up a massive pill of money I won’t be able to spend

To consider annuities in the future also
