Use Google Flights together with the official airline page

I use to be a big fan of kayak until I started using google flights

It’s not because you find cheaper flights.

It’s just because you get a lot more tools to be able to find flights.

Here are some of them:

Best departing flights ( you can customize the flights you want, so you don’t end up seeing a discount but with 15 layovers )

(explore page) If you are flexible you can just see what location are available and for what price

You can see the flight price, months ahead without having to keeping looking on each page

Do it backwards

Most people are trying to find a flight for the date thye want

And they spend time trying to check back and forth to see if the price goes down

But what if you did it backwards

Here is how:

Decide the date

Decide the place

Based on the price available

So for example:

Instead of saying I want to go to mexico summer time during my vaction

Say I want to see whats the best flights avaible during my summer time that I can save the most money on

But this requeires for you to open to others places

Best Practives

Tuesdays, Wednesday and Saturdays are usually the cheapest times to fly

And if you can be flexible by a few days, from when you arrive and leave, you could find cheaper options

Be Open to Other forms of Transporation

Layover suck, but you could take time to check out other places while you on a long layover

Be open to buss rides, you can take a busride and stay somewhere for awhile and then flight out from their for cheaper

You can always drive, but I hate that idea

Fly During Off Seaons

Christmas, Turkey, summer breaks, we know are going to be expensive

But whos flying during Febrary or May ( very few people are )

So if you can, do it then

Set Fare Alerts

You can set fair alerts with Google flights and kayak

This way you can notified whenever flight prices drop within your budget

Fly Light

You can save a lot of money when you learn to back everythig you need in your bag and carryon

Watch and read some of those backing tutorials,, they help
