What to charge for YouTube sponsor deals is something a lot of YouTubers struggle with when negotiating with brands. Some people use formulas and some use flat rates. There is not really a right or wrong answer here. It’s a matter of perspective and what you are trying to accomplish with your channel and what relationship you want with a sponsor.

I avoid trying to base Sponsor Deals of CPM rates and estimated views, because these are unreliable even if they are what most advertisers are familiar with.

Typically in working with sponsors, I try to position it as them not paying for the content, but paying for editing and production work and me consulting them on what would appeal to the audience. In looking at it from that perspective and approaching brands based on that, I’ve been able to retain creative control and makes sure that everyone is getting value.
