How To Use Money To Make You Happy

When I was broke, I became obsessed with people, habits and making money. So, whenever I spoke to someone with a lot of money ( I mean a lot of money ) , they would always say, its not about the money, the money isn’t going to make you happiness and it’s not really what you want. I would listen, shake my head yes, and in my head be thinking, I want to find out for myself.

That was about 7 years ago, today I have 5 times the amount of money I wanted by this age, and it’s true, money will not make you happy. But you can use money to increase your level of happiness. (because guess what, being poor won’t make you happy either)

I’m making this video, because I myself worried so much about accumulating money, that I never worried about using it to make me really happy if you know what I mean.

1. Personal experience I noticed this ( I feel happiest with money, when I’m able to do something for someone else ) – Give

-Pay for my aunt’s health needs

-Fix someone’s phone that they needed to fix

-Buy my friend a gift, take them on experience and give to help someone else

I feel happier spending money for someone else than I do for myself

2. Flexibility

-I only work with people I like, when I was at the gap, data entry or building my accounting business it didn’t matter how big of butt the other person was, I needed to deal with them

-But money gives me the flexibility to work with people I like, I work my Paul, this guy I like

-I get to answer you guys all the time on ig and YouTube, I like you guys

3. Time

-Why pay somebody to do something you can do yourself

-Because you can always make more money but you can’t make more time

-This doesn’t mean everything of course, but for the most part auditing your life and knowing of this stuff you can pay someone else to do

4. Guilt Free Spending

-Earlier in my career I was in a relationship, and I was obsessed with money , and whenever I spent money, I knew I shouldn’t have spend I felt guilty

-Today when I spend money on a upgrade on flights, some books on amazon or a subscription or vacation, I don’t feel guilty

-Because I have that peace of mind

5. Buying quality over Junk

-There’s a difference between luxury, quality and junk

-When I was broke, I spend $50-100 a year on goodwill to buy all my cloths for the year

-Today I can buy sometime nice that will last me a long time, a nice suite, a nice car and nice things for my house ( however this does not mean, I’m going to buy a Lambo, Burberry suite, because that’s not quality that’s just image )

Like Jim Rohn, better a house filled with a few treasures than a house full of junk

6. Buy Experiences you Enjoy

-My version of a party is a group of friends, a good conversation and some good stories

-That’s what I like, so that’s what I do, along with doing other experiences

-But you don’t need do to what they tell you to do ( fun and experiences means going to Hawaii )

7. Invest in Others

-Not just money but with time; you know how it is to help someone when you cant help yourself

-But it’s so cool to help a friend’s small business, or take 1-3 hours and just help them with a plan

-Money enables that
