Indiana Black Expo to honor several distinguished guests at upcoming celebration


“Each of this year’s honorees represents the very best of excellence, impact, and cultural influence,” said Alice Watson, president of Indiana Black Expo.

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Black Expo is honoring several distinguished people at the Pacers Sports & Entertainment Corporate Luncheon in July.

On Friday, July 18, Alfre Woodard (Lifetime Achievement Award), Deniece Williams (Living Legend Award), Wendell Pierce (Screen Image Award) and Chiney Ogwumike (Excellence in Media Award) will be honored.

“Each of this year’s honorees represents the very best of excellence, impact and cultural influence,” said Alice Watson, president of Indiana Black Expo. “From the arts and entertainment to sports and global engagement, these individuals have not only broken barriers in their respective fields but have also used their platforms to inspire, uplift and create lasting change. It is our honor to recognize their remarkable achievements and celebrate the legacy they continue to build for future generations.”

The celebration will take place in the Sagamore Ballroom of the Indiana Convention Center. Individual tickets cost $75 and tables cost $750. Doors will open at 10 a.m., with the program scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
