Invest your first $100 | stock market for beginners

The first investment I made for the long term, was believe it our not 14 times less than $100. That’s right I started investing with about $7, and today I have a little over 280k because the market is down which normal. I say that not t show but to tell you, you can grow even if you start with little.

However one thing I will is this, I thought that the more money you got the more complex the strategy needed to get, but it was the exact opposite. When you don’t know much about investing, you buy a lot of stuff, and the more you learn the less you buy and when you know you just focus one investment.

That’s why today, I only invest in one ETF and that’s it

.1. Brokerage account (AKA the app)

-This is the most unimportant but important aspect of investing

-Its like where do you shop groceries, its important but whats most important is what you buy not where you buy

-Obviously if you go to Mom and pop they are more expensive but give you better service ( maybe), if you go to a fancy chain like Whole food ( more options but expensive ) and if you go to a discount chain ( same options but cheap )

My advice is this:

-Ignore the apps, ignore the ads

-Go where the big dogs are, I would pick fidelity, vanguard or Schwabs

-I don’t want to play with a new app, that just came out for the next 30-50 years of my investment career

The most important aspect is:

-My money is safe

-Solid company with years of history

-Low fees

2. Diversification

-Diversification is said to be like, not putting all your eggs in one backet, to make sure they don’t all crack

-But the problem is, they don’t tell you about the cost of each basket

-And they also don’t tell you, that even if the basket falls, and the eggs crack, you just have to give the famer time to replace those eggs with new ones

Let me explain:

-If you invested in the US, International market, Real estate, bonds, emerging markets and whatever else they want to sell you

-When the market goes down, you don’t feel it as much, but you also don’t experience the highs as much

-But if you pick the us market, and hold on for 30-60 years it doesn’t matter what it does tomorrow, because you only lose if the US losses and at the point the entire planet losses

3. The actual strategy

What I invest my money into:

-Just the S&P 500

-It account for 80% of the US stock market, 500 eggs is diversified

-And since America is so big in the world, and countries use our currency and if we go they go, and have a lot of faith that if fall, nothing else matter lol

3 step plan

-Automatic investments

-10-20% ( once debt free, and save for emergency )

-Dollar cost average:
