So is it too late to start a youtube channel? People have been asking this question since the first year of youtube back 2005.

So 10 years later I didn’t give up, and the channel has grown to 50k in less than 6 months and makes 10k on average per month. And people are still asking if it’s too late. So I’ll be answering that question in this video.

So I have good news and Bad news: I’ll start with the good news.
– I’ve seen people start a channel at 50-65 and get subscriber ( so age doesn’t matter)
– I seen People start with their Phone ( so no excuse lack of equipment)
– I’ve seen people with 500k subscriber that get 1000 views per videos ( so subs don’t matter)

Bad news:
– Competition: If you want anything in life, you have to compete ( but the secret is, the competition is yourself)
– The more you wait the harder it’ll get
– Commenting on other people videos, shout me out please ( don’t work) I tried it lol
( however, making insightful comments and asking for genuine help often does)

When I started:
1. I was nervous about the camera
2. About the comments
3. About the quality
Tip: It’s like going to high school the first year and being scared and by senior year you’re a professional at it.

Now, here’s why people fail:
1. Lack of planning: You need three things: And Immediately take action

What topic do you like for youtube channel: Pick on and stick to it, this is called a niche

Do you have any value to offer in that topic and are you at it: Be honest.

Will people watch: ( you cant post videos in white and black without sound, it needs to be about topics that are current.

2. They start with little information on SEO optimization, Thumbnails and growing their channel and content
– I go to channels that literally use the same thumbnail for every video and ask why im not getting views
Tip: you have to stand out

3. Don quit your Day job
– It’s not an either-or type of thing with youtube, you can both.
Story: at one point I was going to drop out of college to focus on youtube, and that might be a good idea. But in reality, you can post a video a day as I do with less than 4 hours of work

4. You don’t need the fancy equipment
Story: Tommy im waiting for the laptop, the camera, the mic, I want to have everything before I start. ( equipment doesn’t matter, the value does)
– Get started and then eventually make upgrades

5. Lack of consistency and growth ( not the channel but them)
– They don’t pivot and make changes
– They Plan their videos
– They blame youtube

Overall:
You can never be late to add value, now if all you care about is the fidget spinner and all those trends, then you’ll always be chasing a trend.
