Karla and Lowanna Grant: mother and daughter, colleagues and best friends

This week on Tea for Two:

Walkley Award-winning presenter and journalist, Karla Grant is celebrating her 30th anniversary at SBS this year.

The proud Western Arrernte woman hosts Australia’s longest running Indigenous current affairs television program, Living Black.

And the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Karla’s daughter with her former husband Stan Grant, Lowanna, has carved out her own career in the media industry.

The pair told Saskia Mabin about their close bond as colleagues and best friends and reflected on banding together as a family to support Stan Grant when he left the ABC in 2023 following relentless racial abuse.
