Malik Saleem on how Invest Fest links Black entrepreneurs

True Laundry Detergent founder reveals networking secrets at Atlanta business festival
Malik Saleem is bringing his Atlanta-based business True Laundry Detergent to Invest Fest, where Black entrepreneurs gather to showcase their products and build community connections. Operating from a warehouse in College Park with state-of-the-art equipment, Saleem’s company manufactures and ships their signature product nationwide while maintaining a presence in health food stores throughout Atlanta.
For Saleem, Invest Fest represents more than just a business opportunity — it’s a chance to discover the wealth of talent and products within the Black business community while building meaningful partnerships that extend beyond the event itself.
What is your name and what are you here with?
My name is Malik Saleem. I’m here with True Laundry Detergent. This is our first time at Invest Fest and it’s a great festival for us to come together and produce some wealth. We’re located right here in Atlanta. We manufacture a product called True Laundry Detergent. You can get it at thetrueproducts.com. We ship all over the country.
What’s the best part of Invest Fest?
Meeting different people who have a lot of different products. I didn’t know so many people had so many different products in our community. So now we can walk around. I found a lady who had some — we love shea butter — she’s got one of the best shea butters in the city. So now we can buy the shea butter directly from her.
What’s important about Invest Fest for Black business and women?
The most important thing is connecting with the right people. We try to help other people do their business also. It’s a great way to find out about new businesses and help other businesses.
