My First Debt Free Purchase | Financial Freedom

So, I paid off about 52k in debt, and for me it was pretty hard to do, because anyone that’s into money and finance would consider it good debt; however, I wanted to focus on my actual goal which is financial freedom.

Instant gratification is what makes a lot of people poor and keeps them poor, and my definition of instant gratification is simple, its seeking pleasure and avoiding pain. It’s like I want to be healthy, but I rather stay here and watch another episode than go to the gym, or I want to be financially free but I love driving my lease luxury car.

And debt is a big example of this, because it literally helps achieve something faster, with added risk. And in this video, I’m going to tell you what the first thing I bough was, once I became debt free ( PS full transparency, I’m currently outside of the US and use a Credit card because of the conversation rates, but it gets paid off each month, it’s not for point, it’s conversion rates; it literally saved me over 500 over 2 months, so it matters)

1. My first Debt Purchase ( I’ve never heard someone talk about this, lmk what you’re was)

-I was 17 years old and with the consent of my mom, I signed up for 10s of thousands of dollars of student loan debt

-19 years old and I got my first card, it was a Barclaycard Visa Apple Reward and I bought 3,000 dollars laptop and I maxed out the credit card

-I don’t know old was, but I remember using credit cards for business use and building up a balance of about $13k

So I was doing pretty average, even better than some

-The average credit card balance in the US is $5,700

-Average student loan balance is $37,700

-So, in some areas I was below average and in others I was right on track

Now here is how this ended

-I paid the student loan debt a 8 years later ( one payment paid in full )

-I paid the credit cards before I had to pay in interest but I almost didn’t make it

But here is the Point: all my Debt Purchases, was just me trying to do something before I had the money to do it, and saying that that was the only way for me to get those things I thought I needed so badly.

2. Here is My First Debt Free Purchase ( which I also Bought without Debt )

-I bought a Lamborghini Urus for 200k lol JK

-I did buy something just as stupid though, I bought an iPhone 14 and upgraded from the iPhone XS

-I didn’t purposely say, my first debt purchase was with apple, so this is I’m also going to do it with apple

But here is Some More Stuff I’ve been able to buy without feeling guilty

-And when I say without feeling guilty it’s because

-I have no debt, I have fully funded emergency account, I invest monthly and I also have a paid off home ( so I’m able to buy things )

-I’ve bought Gifts for People, I’ve bought experiences and I’ve bought Convenience

Honest Guys:

-The coolest thing about being debt free

-Is know that almost half your income you can spend on whatever you want

-It took me almost a decade to here, but it was definitely worth it (but Personal Finance is Personal)

3. What now vs what then

-Nothing changes I still will keep investing

-Diversify into real estate

-And I want to keep enjoying my income responsibly and increase it

Future

-A lot of decision that I made, because I had debt and I had to figure out a way to manage it (I don’t have to think about it anymore)

-Life gets a lot more simple
