Over 1000 Hours Of Self Help Books | What I Learned

According to audible I’ve read for literally 2 months, which is about 1440 hours, and that doesn’t include all the books I read before audible, or just paper or digital. The point is I’ve read a lot, and its obviously had a massive effect on my finances., my personality and even my persona.

To the point where before I started reading I took a personality test and 6 years later, my personality has literally changed, my beliefs have changes and my reactions have changed. You know they you can live multiply lives just by reading a lot, I’ve been able to grow my net worth 2x what the average 65 years old has in 6 years.

1. Take a File out and Add a New One

-You ever seen the movie inside out, by Pixar

-Where you have these little people inside your head that run your emotions

-Well my idea is that you have little people inside your head, that manage information ( they add new information and they dispose old information )

Now here is the idea:

-When you’re young you learn a lot of different things, so you’re constantly adding information

-And when you go to school more information but then after school the learning stops ( and most believe stay with some same files forever, and the problem is, after years of the files not being opened, they stay stuck and its hard to open them )

-But here is what I’ve learned ( that this is just made up story obviously, don’t go search for people in your head )

What I learned is:

-That in life you should always keep learning, and you’re goal should be to go to bed a little less stupid that day, because in the end, we can’t learn everything

-And to every day try to remove a little piece of ignorance

-Reading change my life because I did it a lot, and I was willing to replace my old ways of thinking

2. No problem that you’re having is New

-the bible is 3400 years old, according my quick google search that shouldn’t be trusted

-and you read the bible and every single problem people are having today, they had back then too

-problems with war, money, people, places and you name it ( its inside the bible, its why its become my favorite book plus is the word )

But my point is this ( even if you are not religious )

-what ever you lack, a person who had that problem wrote down the answer to your problem

-all you have to do is read it

-I don’t know how many people I have to thank for avoiding so many stupid mistakes (to many to count honest )

3. Knowledge without application is useless

-I remember I read a book where the author told to read his book 12 times

-And I was like is this guy insane

-And then he said, it is better to read one good book 12 times than 1 new book with –mediocre ideas every month

He was write: his book wasn’t the one I chose to read but here is the list

-The richest man in Babylon

-The bible

-Stop acting rich

-The psychology of money

-The alchemist

Those are my 5 books that I read multiple times a year

-And my goal is to read them for the rest of my life

-But not just but to live parts of those books

-Because knowing where the gold is and not going to get it, is useless
