CLARKSVILLE, TN – The North Branch of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library will host Jubilee: Celebrating Black History on Saturday, February 21st, from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Jubilee celebrates Black History Month through a multigenerational community celebration that brings people together to learn, share, and honor the legacy of African Americans. This event invites the community to reflect on shared history, celebrate local stories, and be inspired by the voices that shape our collective experience in Clarksville, Montgomery County and beyond.

Attendees will experience engaging presentations, compelling storytelling, crafts, displays, and local authors and vendors that highlight the many contributions of the African American community. Jubilee will also serve as a chance for inspiring small business entrepreneurs to hear from other local business owners as they share advice and networking opportunities.

In addition, this year’s celebration will feature a special screening of the movie, “Freedom Hair.” This inspiring drama based on true events that follows a black mother and entrepreneur as she opens a hair-braiding business and the many encounters she faced during her journey.

This event is free and open to all ages. For more library events and information, please visit clarksville.org or call 931-648-8826. You can also follow us on Facebook.com/CMCPublicLibrary.
