SAN Inc. receives grant from ADECA to support abuse victims | News

SAN Inc., also known as Turning Point, has received a $96,720 grant from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) to support domestic and family violence victims. 

“We have a responsibility to protect the victims of these crimes and to provide them access to professional, compassionate care in a timely manner,” said Gov. Kay Ivey. “I commend these agencies for offering comprehensive services to victims throughout the state.”

SAN Inc. serves Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Marengo, Pickens, Sumter and Tuscaloosa counties. The funds will be used for an emergency shelter, counseling, advocacy and assistance for victims. 

SAN Inc. is one of other agencies to benefit from a $1.05 million round of grants from ADECA. 

“ADECA supports organizations like these throughout the state to ensure that communities are able to give victims their best chance to heal and live happy, productive lives,” ADECA Director Kenneth Boswell said. “ADECA joins Gov. Ivey in support of the vital work done at these centers.”
