Volatility does not equal Risk

When you are investing in the stock market

You will at some point experience a lot of volitlity

That means you’ll see you investments go and down

For example:

Just this year I lost nearly on paper nearly 50k from my investments, erased from the face of the planet

Today the investments are back to normal

The stock market is like a roller coaster and you should expect things like this to happen

The key is simple:

Just don’t sell

When you are on a roller coaster

You can do anything you want except jump off

You Shouldn’t Invest Without This

Investing is not for anyone that has money

Just like getting married is not like anyone that has a body

There are a few things that you should consider first

For example:

If you start investing and you have a bunch of debt and no savings

What are you doing to do when an emergency happens

Most likely you’ll sell your investments whether they are making you money or not

Because you need the money

The key Is simple:

Debt free

Emergency Account: 3-6 months

So when times get hard you have a little safety net

You should have an idea of how much money you want and what will be required

Investing is a numbers game, and the more you have the better

But if you don’t know how much money you need to be solid

Then it’ll impossible to know if you are investing enough or maybe you could be investing to much

For example:

When I started investing I would invest literally 99% of all my money

When I could have just invest 20% and still get to my goal and use the other money to do other important things like save for a house, buy rental property and so on

And theirs people, that have been investing for decades and have nothing to show for it

The key is simple:

To be conservative you can multiple the income you want from your investments by 25 and that tell you how much you need to have invested

Ultra conservative, multiple it by 33 and that’s how much you nede

Then you can use a savings goal calucaltor at rate of 10.53% per year, and see how much you need to invest per month

Make investing Simple Again ( Index Return are more than enough for most people )

An index fund is a type of mutual fund

But its passively held

The the goal is to pool money together to track a part of the market

For example:

You know when they say the average market return is 10% per year

So If you buy an indeX fund like VTO, it holds all the stocks in the stock market so you’ll get that average return too

Here is the key for me:

Personally invest into the VOO aka the S&P 500

I use vanguard because they are a solid company

And I would invest 10-20% every time I got paid

Retirement is Not just about how much money you have invested

Having enough to live off is hard so make it easier.

Here is how:

Pay off a home

Have no debt

Pay cash for everything

Have an emergency account

Work part time

Why

This way you don’t need 25times your income or 33time because you can still make a good amount of money
