Twitter was Hacked on July 15, 2020. This Twitter Hack was the single largest security breech of a social media platform with Twitter Accounts from MrBeast, Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Barack Obama, and other high profile accounts being compromised.

These Twitter Hacks also resulted in up to an estimated $250,000 of Bitcoin being transferred to the Hackers through multiple Bitcoin wallets. This Bitcoin scam used Verified Twitter Accounts to scam users.

In response to the Twitter Hack, Twitter locked Verified Accounts, keeping them for posting for about roughly 3 hours. Unverified users on Twitter celebrated this by trending it and also with several memes.
